[Detroit-Michgian] — The Jackie Kallen Foundation is proud to announce the appointment of Judge Rosemarie Aquilina to the Chairperson of its Advisory Board. Known globally for her unwavering commitment to justice and the empowerment of survivors, Judge Aquilina joins the foundation to help further its mission of mentorship and resilience.
Judge Aquilina currently serves on the 30th Circuit Court in Ingham County, Michigan. She gained international acclaim for presiding over the USA Gymnastics sex abuse scandal, where she provided a historic platform for over 150 survivors to share their testimonies, famously telling them, “Leaving your voice here is your strength”.
“We are beyond honored to have Judge Aquilina join our team,” said Jackie Kallen, founder and ‘The First Lady of Boxing.’ “Her life’s work has been about giving people a fighting chance and ensuring that the vulnerable are heard. That is the exact spirit we strive to instill through our foundation’s work in the community.”
A retired Major from the Michigan Army National Guard and the state’s first female JAG Officer, Judge Aquilina brings a unique perspective on leadership and discipline to the board. Her background as an educator, author, and founder of Warriors Affirmations aligns perfectly with the foundation’s goal of “knocking out” the obstacles that prevent individuals from reaching their full potential.
In her role as the Chairperson Advisory Board, Judge Aquilina will provide strategic guidance on program development and advocacy, helping the Jackie Kallen Foundation expand its impact on at-risk youth and individuals overcoming trauma.
