Mike Grable (born February 24, 1968), known as “The Irish Express,” is a retired American professional boxer from Clarkston, Michigan, who competed in the lightweight and super lightweight divisions. He is best remembered for his 1993 bout against future Hall of Famer Oscar De La Hoya

Grable’s professional career spanned from 1988 to 2003. He maintained a reputation as a tough, “old-school” pugilist.

  • The De La Hoya Fight: On April 6, 1993, Grable faced Oscar De La Hoya in an eight-round lightweight bout. Although he lost by unanimous decision, Grable was credited with ending De La Hoya’s streak of five consecutive knockouts.
  • Stance and Build: He fought with an orthodox stance, standing 175cm (5’9″) tall with a reach of 173cm.
